For years, I’ve had an interest in

  • Japan
  • Electronic Music
  • Graphic Design

And today, I’ve been treated to a video that combines all three with more style than I’ve ever seen before. I’ve never been so excited by green squares, synthesisers and bad English as I have tonight. Am I weird, or have I just discovered the music video from the future?

P.S.
Yoshinori Sunahara has a lot of other great music. I think you can pick some of his stuff up from iTunes, although I got my tracks off eMusic

I spent too much time on YouTube today and discovered these gems:
First up, the original video from Daft Punk themselves:

Next, please welcome one of the most creative things I’ve seen this year (OK, so we’re only 5 days into 2008…), the “Daft Hands” version:

Brilliant, isn’t it?

Inspired by this, two girls decided to create their own “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” video, appropriately titled “Daft Bodies”:

That must have taken a LOT of practice, even though the girls indicate to the contrary on their Daft Bodies myspace page.

Next, we have an a cappella version of this track. Honestly, I didn’t think this could be done, but the 11 guys from the Carleton Singing Knights have done a remarkably good version:

Finally, inspired by the original, we have Kanye West’s version (yuck!) which is probably the most heard take on this track around the world at the moment:
