Well I think so anyway, and I’m not biased at all, even though it’s my design (ha ha ha…). For a sports shoe fiend like myself, NikeID is a great way to while away an hour or two. Since it launched quite a few years ago, I’ve had tremendous fun creating the ‘perfect’ colour combinations for the right shoe. I think this is one of my best.

Go ahead, design your own shoe and if you come up with anything good, let me know!

A friend from Taiwan recently sent me the following true story in his family news email:

My wife’s mom was suffering with cancer and ended up comatosed in hospital. As you could imagine everyone in her family was anxious. The doctors said it was ‘her last days’. My wife and I were concerned for her salvation and afterlife as were my wife’s Buddhist / Taoist family. My wife and I, together with some of our believing friends prayed, asking that God would talk to her mother about salvation while she was in the coma — believing the promise in Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved - you and your household. And it happened
One day while we were visiting her, she woke up for a short time. Then we asked her about salvation and if she wanted to accept Jesus as her saviour and go to heaven. She agreed, and prayed the prayer of salvation with us. She went back into the coma shortly after and died the next day. God is faithful to his promises! Never give up on your family, God is faithful up until the last hour. Unfortunately we weren’t there went she died but My wife’s Brother in-law and sisters were. They were pretty perplexed by the smile my wife’s mom had on her face when she passed away. I mentioned to them that she was probably smiling because she knew where she was going. Even tho’ My wife’s mom became a Christian before she died, her family insisted on giving her a traditional Buddhist funeral, but I think that it was more to appease themselves. At the funeral my wife gave a great speech which spoke of Christ and salvation, and some of her relatives were touched and asked her about it afterwards.

For years, I’ve had an interest in

• Graphic Design

And today, I’ve been treated to a video that combines all three with more style than I’ve ever seen before. I’ve never been so excited by green squares, synthesisers and bad English as I have tonight. Am I weird, or have I just discovered the music video from the future?

The other day, I overwrote nearly 10000 photo titles and descriptions. It put me in a bad mood for about 2 days. Those titles had taken me probably close to 1000 hours to write. Fortunately, I had a backup. Unfortunately, the backup was from 3 years ago. I’m now considering buying expensive speech to text software to ease the pain of typing out the titles of over 5000 photos.

The moral of the story? I think you’ve figured out what it is already…

Easy hey? If you make the Hunger Site your home page, like it is mine, then you’ll end up donating a cup of food every time you start up your browser.

2. Play the addictive, vocabulary-expanding word game

Almost as easy as option A, and a whole lot more fun. It would be great to see companies encouraging employees to play this game after hours. Perhaps some kind-hearted corporation could have a FreeRice competition, with rewards for employees who score the highest? It’s all in the name of helping others, remember, and it certainly doesn’t hurt to improve your vocabulary.

Inspired by this, two girls decided to create their own “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” video, appropriately titled “Daft Bodies”:

That must have taken a LOT of practice, even though the girls indicate to the contrary on their Daft Bodies myspace page.

Next, we have an a cappella version of this track. Honestly, I didn’t think this could be done, but the 11 guys from the Carleton Singing Knights have done a remarkably good version:
